Smart Grids and Smart Meters Summit, Dubai, October 28-29 ,2015

NEEDS had participated in the 5th Smart Grids & Smart Meters Summit, collocated with the Sustainable Utilities Middle East Expo, as a Gold Sponsor, on October 28-29th 2015 in Madinat Jumeirah Arena, Dubai - UAE.
Under the patronage of his Excellency Eng. Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei the Minister of Energy of United Arab Emirates, the conference and exhibition were one of the largest gatherings for Utilities experts involved in power, smart grid, smart meters, and technology industry players from the UAE and abroad. International visitors attended to witness the various innovations, and experience first-hand the entrepreneurial spirit so strongly exhibited within the vibrant UAE Utilities community in developing an environmentally stable and cost.

Dr. Mounir Yehia, NEEDS Chairman, was a Key Note Speaker among the number of high ranking government officials, representatives from around the region, and delegate companies with high expertise in Smart Grid and Smart Utilities, who have been invited to speak at the event. Dr. Yehia presented NEEDS vision on the Metering Entreprise Solution being the bridge to Smartness, the Smart Metering being in the heart of the Smart Grid transformation, the benchmarking in Smart Metering making the Smartness in hand of decision makers, and NEEDS contribution in the overall Smartness from Concept to Project Implementations including awards, papers, conferences and others. Dr. Yehia participated as well in the various conference panel sessions where Smartness specific details were discussed, debated and analyzed among the panelists and the audience.

NEEDS Booth was visited by DEWA Chairman H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, SEWA CEO H.E. Dr. Engineer Rashid Obaid Jumaa Al Leem and other Governmental representatives, Organizations delegates, Decision Makers, Utilities professionals, Private Sectors agents, Smart Grid concept promoters, Academics Professors, and experts in Smart Grid Technologies. The participants and visitors from more than 25 countries were exposed to NEEDS smart milestone history, extending from the Digital Utility Concept to the Smartness Concept. The visitors attended a comprehensive stand enclosing NEEDS core values, mission, vision, business tracks, knowledge and expertise. The projected demonstrations in the stand summarized NEEDS global experience, and NEEDS particular involvement in the Smart Meters, Smart Utility and Smart Grid technologies. NEEDS has successful discussions with regional utilities such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Shargha, Fujairah, Saudi Arabia and Oman, on the specifics of smart metering project deployment, smart grid development in the area, where NEEDS highlighted innovative initiatives prepared by its team on testing booklets, procedures and platform requirements.
