1. After successfully completing the bidding process for the DSP project, NEEDS was appointed by EDL as the Program Management Consultant for project implementation throughout the 4-year duration of the project.
2. The DSP project, a key distribution initiative in the Policy Paper for the Electricity Sector of Lebanon, was officially launched on April 2, 2012. The project kick-off was held at EDL headquarters in the presence of EDL management, the DSP's, and NEEDS as the Program Management Consultant. The kick-off marked the beginning of the 4-year implementation period of the project.3. A set of kick-off meetings and workshops were held over a 2-week period at EDL headquarters, in the presence of EDL central and regional management, the DSP's, and the Program Manager. Meetings and workshops covered several integral aspects of the DSP project including project management structure, commercial matters, IT solutions, mobilization, and DSP project tracks such as Meter Reading, Bill Collection, Customer Services, Network Survey, and Asset Management activities.
